Korea's first official  International WiMAX Forum Certification issued

Telecommunications Technology Association’s (TTA), a WiMAX Forum Designated Certification LabWiMAX (WFDCL), tested and certified GCT Semiconductor's GDM7205K model, making it the 1st and only single-chip reference design to become WiMAX Forum Certified.

Based on GCT’s industry-proven CMOS radio frequency (RF) technology, this compact solution offers a high-integrated, low-powered transceiver that minimizes the number of external RF front-end components. 

It also includes a Mobile WiMAX baseband with high performance dual-processors and an impressive array of peripherals for connectivity. GDM7205K satisfies the high processing demands of multimedia data processing and wireless connectivity while minimizing power consumption.

“We are pleased to test and certify the GCT’s GDM7205K reference design and to enter it the WiMAX Forum? Certified Product Registry.

We hope that those system designs, based on GDM7205K, are virtually ‘plug-and-play’, thus enabling the fastest possible time-to-market for their Mobile WiMAX systems.” said Dr. Youngwha Kim, General Manager of Telecommunications Technology Association.

In accordance with the agreement between GCT Semiconductor and TTA, this certified product will be used as part of MIOT test-bed in TTA.
