“IT FORUM KOREA 2008” Co-sponsored by the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, and co-hosted by Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) and Open Standards and Internet Association(OSIA), "IT Forum Korea 2008" was successfully held on September 1~2 for two days at COEX Grand Conference Center with over 700 experts participation. To cope with rapidly changing international forum and consortium, and to revitalize domestic standardization activities, TTA started a new project of selecting and supporting 'Strategic IT Standardization Fora' since 2000. Part of this project includes the hosting of IT Forum Korea to encourage mutual collaboration and information exchange among fora, as well as vitalization of standardization activity by promoting fora activity. The theme of this year's "IT Forum Korea 2008" was『IT Standardization for the New Growth Engine』and the conference was sub-divided into 6 tracks which included mobile communication, RFID/USN, Broadcasting, BcN, IT Convergence, Digital Contents and 15 technical sessions. Over 50 topics were presented by the CTOs, professors, and experts who were members of 38 strategic IT standardization fora. In particular, the first day's session included keynote presentation regarding information communication standardization roadmap, mid-to-long term development and standardization strategy for broadcasting communication convergence technology, 4G mobile communication technology development and its international standardization strategy. |
