The 26th China/Japan/Korea (CJK) IMT WG Meeting Held (Jeju Hyatt Regency Hotel,)
TTA held the 26th CJK IMT WG Meeting for Standardization Collaboration on Jeju Island, Korea for two days from the 8th to the 9th of September. As International Telecommunication Union - Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) plans to complete ITU Recommendation for the IMT-Advanced, TTA is seeking ways to co-operate on standardization of the IMT-Advanced by collaborating with Japan (ARIB) and China (CCSA) through China/Japan /korea IMT Standards Meeting. As a result of the meeting, TTA (Korea), CCSA (China) and ARIB (Japan) agreed to collaborate  on standardization of [IMT.UPDATE] which is a fundamental document for frequency usage after the IMT-Advanced. To this end, the three bodies agreed to submit a joint contribution at the ITU Mobile Communication WP5D Meeting that will be held in Chongqing, China in October of 2010. From the last June's Vietnam meeting, ITU began work on[IMT.UPDATE] which is a standardization document as a reference for estimation of market and frequency usage after the IMT-Advanced. By addressing the preparation schedule and expected contents of the document, the joint contribution agreed upon by the three bodies is expected to lead international standardization efforts at the time when broadband frequencies will be in greater demand due to the exponential proliferation of smartphones. In addition, the three organizations reached a consensus on standardization procedures and missions regarding the 9th WP5D Meeting and [IMT.RADIO] which is a document regarding the Standardization history for the IMT-Advanced. They also agreed upon submission of a joint contribution. To ensure continuous cooperation among three bodies,  a SIG (Special Interest Group) will be organized to discuss the vision and technical standardization issues that they will be face regarding Beyond IMT-Advanced. The next meeting is slated to be held in early next March of 2011in Kobe, Japan.
