Joined the Membership of Global TD-LTE Initiative Forum
On July 3, TTA joined GTI (Global TD-LTE Initiative) Forum, a global TD-LTE consultative body, and began activities as a GTI member. GTI is an industry-led nonprofit organization that aims at spreading LTE-TDD technology, commercial service expansion, realizing economies of scale through expansion of the technological ecosystem and promoting cooperation and interoperability with LTE-FDD technology. GTI was established in February 2011 with five key service providers, which are China Mobile, Bharti Airtel (India), Vodafone (the U.K.), SoftBank (Japan) and Clearwire (the U.S.A.) With 59 service providers and 54 manufacturers and other companies as its members, GTI holds five workshops and conferences a year. By performing as a member, TTA plans to identify market opportunities for TDD communication technology, which is gaining in importance, to establish testing and certification service strategies accordingly.
