- 18 Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) standards chosen, 8 standards eliminated -
The 53rd Technical Assembly (electronic ballot), held from 25 October 2007 to 8 November 2007, agreed to adopt 18 new TTA standards while withdrawing 8 outdated standards.
One of the newly adopted standard at this Technical Assembly was "Standard on Intergrated I/O Connection Interface for Mobile Phone." This standard was adopted to reflect the slimmer mobile phone trend. This new Intergrated I/O Connection Interface for Mobile Phone will replace the traditional 24-pin charger with 20-pin charger, as well as integrating the power and earphone interface into a single interface to provide convenience to phone users. Moreover, Specification for Mobile Standard Platform Version 1.1 and Version 1.2 (adopted in 2004) were withdrawn at this assembly to eliminate confusion among users since the newer standard (Specification for Mobile Standard Platform Version 2.1.0) was adopted back in 2006. |
