Completion of Terrestrial Data Broadcasting Middleware (ACAP) Test Suite Version 2.0

Telecommunications Technology Association Digital Broadcasting Testing & Certification Team has completed its development of the terrestrial data broadcasting middleware (ACAP: Advanced Common Application Platform) test suite version 2.0.

The CATS (Committee for Development ACAP Test Suite and Test Specification), a committee initiated by TTA with participation by the terrestrial data broadcasting receiver manufactures and contents developers, began developing the ACAP Test Suite after obtaining MHP test suite version 1.0.2b back in 2005 when TTA signed a license agreement with MHP Test Consortium. Based on MHP test suite version 1.0.2b, the CATS completed its development of version 1.0 in January 2006 with a total of 8,400 test cases and version 1.6 in February 2007 with a total of 8,900 test cases.

The completion of the test suite version 2.0 added 250 new test cases for Terrestrial Data Broadcasting Standard (TTAS.OT-07.0001/R1) and Transmission and Reception of Terrestrial DTV Data Broadcasting Guideline (TTAR-07.0001), where it now contains a total of over 9,100 test cases. In conclusion, the latest version 2.0 significantly enhanced the ACAP conformance test coverage.

With the application of TTA developed ACAP Test Suite version 2.0, TTA Digital Broadcasting Testing & Certification Center has been performing conformance test for terrestrial data broadcasting receivers (ACAP receivers) in Korea, and as of August 2007, TTA has issued TTA Certification, along with DAPOT (Data Application Platform Of Tv) Certification logo, to a total of 19 models that support terrestrial data broadcasting manufactured by Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and other DTV/STB manufacturers.
