Hosted by TTA, the 7th CJK Standards Meeting was held from April 9th to 11th at Jeju Grand Hotel. About 80 people including the representatives and delegates from China, Japan and Korea attended this meeting. At this meeting, the three countries agreed to collaborate in promoting the adoption of WiBro as one of the IMT-2000 Standards. They also agreed to complete the final draft of IMT-Advanced White Paper by July this year. In regard to the USN technical issues, the N-ID Working Group and NGN Working Group have decided to collaborate in promoting this project. Henceforth, the N-ID Working Group and the NGN Working Group will jointly prepare the “White Paper on USN and N-ID,” which will include definitions of the applications/service technology in the USN area and requirements such as service model, service scenario, and functional structure. In addition, the NGN Working Group has established plans for the 2nd phase multimedia service on Call Server platform Test-bed set-up that includes IMS (Internet Multimedia Subsystem) based on the 1st phase Test-bed results that were conducted between Korea (ETRI) and China (CATR: China Academy of Telecommunication Research) during the past 7 months. NGN Working Group has also agreed to prepare the White Paper on NGN and IPTV.
