| TTA to Provide Field Trial Test Services | |

On September 11, TTA secured qualifications as the first internationally authorized certification and test lab in Korea for GCF (Global Certification Forum) field triasl for GSM, WCDMA and LTE mobile communications devices, and thus commenced the respective test services. Accordingly, It can provide field trial test services in addition to its conformance test services, and thus has become Korea’s first test lab offering one-stop GCF certification service. Certification for a mobile communication device is given by GCF, an internationally authorized certification body, according to the results of conformance test with validated test platforms and field trial test as a GCF Field Trial Qualified Operator(FTQO). GCF field trial tests is compulsory for mobile communications device makers for their entry into the European and major global markets. Therefore, these companies must use the services of internationally authorized test labs. As TTA commences the services, companies in Korea can conveniently and swiftly use a domestic test lab service without requesting test and certification to overseas labs. As the test and certification period and cost are reduced, it is anticipated competitiveness of domestic mobile communications industries and related ones would be enhanced and promoted. |
