The 60th Technical Assembly (Electronic Ballot) was held from 15 September to 23 September 2009 to deal with agenda items such as the adoption of TTA standards. This meeting adopted a total of 8 TTA standards including the ‘IPTV Closed Captioning Standard,’ which is anticipated to contribute largely to the improvement of broadcast viewing rights of the hearing-impaired who use IPTV, as well as the 3 revised DMB-related standards, such as the ‘Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB) Broadcast Web Site (BWS) Service’ will activate DMB services and lead to reinvigorate the related market. Furthermore, the standard on Integrated I/O Connection Interface for 24-pin Mobile Phones,’ which has contributed significantly to an increase in market share and user-convenience due to charger recycling, was adopted as a national standard in 2004. This was approved in light of the proposal to revise the national standard as ‘Standard on Integrated I/O Connection Interface for 20-pin Mobile Phone,’ enabling compatibility with peripherals and the charger, in line with the trend for mobile phone terminals to shrink. |
