Hosted by TTA, the 22nd CJK B3G WG Meeting for collaboration in the IMT-Advanced standardization among standards organizations in China, Japan, and Korea was held from the 9th (Wed.) to the 10th (Thur.) of September, 2009 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Suwon.

This meeting was held to collaborate in standardization among the three countries prior to the 6th ITU-R WP5D meeting to be held in October in Dresden, Germany. Also this meeting was held for mutual collaboration on the evaluation of candidate Radio Interface Technologies(RITs) for IMT-Advanced.

In this meeting, the three countries of China, Japan, and Korea agreed to present the overall direction and schedule of IMT.RADIO standardization documents to handle the technological features and evaluation results of the IMT-Advanced candidate technologies for deliberation in the WP5D meeting.

In addition, during the period of IMT-Advanced standardization, the candidate technologies will be proposed and received. Furthermore, the three countries will jointly  draft and contribute detailed standardization process to be carried out by ITU-R WP5D for Step 3 and Step 5 to evaluate the candidate technologies.

This meeting had a special session on evaluation so that the three countries could achieve collaboration in evaluating candidate technologies in the future. The three countries shared information on the trend and progress of evaluaton. Also, in-depth discussion made in relation to the direction of actual evaluation to be conducted.

More than 50 mobile communication standardization experts from China (CCSA), Japan (ARIB), and Korea (TTA) participated in this meeting. The next meeting will be held in Japan at the end of January 2010.
