Technical Consultancy Workshop for the ICT Standardization Consultancy Program for Developing Countries

TTA, as a part of the ICT standardization consultancy program to enhance standardization capabilities of developing countries, organized a Technical Consultancy Workshop for core ICT technologies that was held on August 27 and 28 in Hanoi, Vietnam for its operators, research institutes, and MIC experts. For this workshop a consultancy group was organized with seven technical standard experts recommended from KT, Samsung Electronics, POSDATA, Xener Systems and ETRI. During the workshop, consultancy was provided for developing a standardization roadmap which included the direction of standardization policies and global standardization trends as well as experiences and technical considerations for service implementation and international standard implementation methods for 3rd and 4th generation mobile communication, IPTV and NGN. In addition, as a follow-up procedure of the procedural consultancy and this technical consultancy, related persons from beneficiary countries will visit Korea 12-14October 2009. This study program will include a reporting session regarding the final outcome of procedural consultancy as well as on-site inspection of the progress of standardization by industries and organizations of Korea.
