Standard Consultation Program for Developing Countries

TTA started the Standard Consultation Program this year for developing countries that lack technology, man power, and capital. With TTA's 20 years of standardization experience, the service was initiated with the intent to increase the standardization capabilities of developing countries, and furthermore to increase the standardization activities of Asia-Pacific region.

The consultation meeting was held three times and covered area such as R&D, policy, and legislation, as well as standardization forum and ITU/APT responds system in the field of ICT standardization. With the service recipient country's request, NGN technical workshop was also held with over 120 experts participation.

Furthermore, the representatives from the recipient country will be invited to Korea for a tour of Koreas standardization activities and site visitation of related industries to enhance the affects of consultation. TTA expects the program will decrease the standardization gap, and in connection with ITU-T standardization collaboration project, TTA plans to expand the service to other countries.
