| A Presentation for data broadcasting ACAP™/OCAP™ test certification | |

On December 19 TTA gave a presentation on test and certification for ACAP™, the terrestrial DTV data broadcasting standard, and OCAP™, the cable DTV data broadcasting standard. Over 20 companies, related to the manufacture and development of data broadcasting receivers, took part in this event with great interests. TTA's test certification procedure and currently available certification services were introduced. (In particular, TTA is now able to provide test and certification services based on the world wide test suite such as MHP, CableLabs?, and SUN Microsystems as TTA's test suite was licensed by them. TTA hopes that this will greatly contribute to widening the data broadcasting base and reinvigorating the market.) Meanwhile, though ACAP™ was established by ATSC in North America, there is no criterion for conformance test certification established yet. TTA developed the ACAP™ test suite and provided test and certification service based on this test suite for the first time in the world. This presentation was more meaningful in this respect, especially as Korea is about to launch the ACAP™-based data broadcasting service early this year.
