The 4th Terrestrial DMB ION
On December 7, 2006 TTA conducted the “4th terrestrial DMB interoperability test" in the TTA Open Lab to test the compatibility of receivers as the version of the DMB system specifications was updated.
In this event, sponsored by 6 organizations, 19 organizations participated and 13 organizations conducted tests in relation to receivers.
The test was conducted mainly to verify the backward compatibility of receivers as changes were made to upgrade the standard, as well as to see if the receivers can handle A/V streams without being affected by the new service. In addition, test was done to verify if the receivers were not affected by the scrambled streaming of restricted services.
The test confirmed that the new service won't require and further updates to the standard in the TTA DMB PG, but additional tests will be required for the remaining section of multiplexing device. It also confirmed that the receiver's RF portion must have the handover capability to be implemented for the nationwide broadcasting
