Head-office expansion work completed
With the aim to substantially increase the capabilities of ICT standardization activities of IT839 strategy and provision of ICT testing & certification services, TTA has completed the expansion from its 11-story (6 above and 5 below ground floors) to a 16-story building by adding 5 additional floors on October 31, 2006. The completion of expansion finalized after 10 months of construction and obtaining permit for completion and approval for usage from the district office. As a result, TTA's head-office building was reborn as a 16-story building with 11 above and 5 below-ground level floors. A total of 4959m2 (1,500 pyong) were added with each floor having 992m2 (300 pyong) of space for ICT testing and other researches. 4 floors out of the expanded 5 floors are planned to be used for ICT-certification testing service, and a remaining floor will be used as the international conference hall aimed to enhance ICT standardization activities with its capability to accommodate approximately 250 people.

Space necessary for increased activities of ICT standardization and ICT testing & certification service for Northeast Asian region was secured from this expansion, and TTA is planning to provide testing & certification services for the core IT 839 strategic areas, such as WiBro, DMB, WCDMA, home network, RFID, and embedded S/W. Accordingly, it plans to expand its capacity for testing & certification services by 16% per annum, from 1,060 projects in 2005 to 3,600 projects by 2010. Furthermore, by designating one of newly constructed floor as international conference hall, it has secured the infrastructure for ICT standardization to enhance domestic and overseas activities. Hence, TTA plans to make active efforts to internationalize domestic standards of IT 839 core strategic area, including those of DMB, WiBro and home network.

The expansion of TTA building paved a way for TTA to take a leap forward in achieving its vision to be the world leader in ICT standard developing organization and to be the hub of Northeast Asia's ICT testing & certification services, bringing the GDP of US$ 20,000 per capita era one step closer.
