Since 2008, TTA has been running standardization consultancy program for developing countries in the Asian-Pacific region to enhance their standardization capabilities by sharing experience and expertise it has accumulated over the past two decades. This past February, TTA selected Vietnam and held a kick-off meeting on-site to assess Vietnam’s standardization status and requirements. In April TTA analyzed the current status of Vietnam, including standardization policies, R&D, regulation, system/procedures, human resources development, and ITU response system, and offered advice with a focus on case studies involving other foreign countries. At the third meeting held in Vietnam from July 1 to July 3, TTA provided comprehensive advice on propositions that can be implemented by Vietnam with respect to each item on the agenda. The next meeting is slated to be held in the form of a technical consultancy workshop on implementation including business models for service areas such as 3G, IPTV and NGN, as well as international standard implementation methods.
