In October, TTA obtained a qualification as a certified test center for CWG-RF test and commenced the CWG-RF testing service. CWG-RF test measures radioactivity in the Wi-Fi radio waves transmitted between mobile phones mounted with Wi-Fi function. As most smartphones are mounted with Wi-Fi function, importance of the test is being highlighted as of late. For smartphone users, Wi-Fi has already become an important auxiliary means of data communication. Therefore, radioactivity in Wi-Fi radio wave transmission is recognized as an important quality assessment item for smartphones. In particular, CWG-RF is managed as a mandatory test item to obtain PTCRB certification in North America. TTA's qualification to provide CTIA OTAP and CWG-RF tests simultaneously is anticipated to increase export competitiveness of Korea's smartphone manufacturers. |
