As concerns were raised that the organizational structure of Technical Committee limits its capability of examining technical aspects of proposed standard due to bundled project groups under a single technical committee structure, the 54th Technical Assembly agreed to restructure the current Technical Committee. The restructuring created Infra S/W, Broadcasting, IMT(4G), and Information Security Technical Committees while maintaining and/or downsizing the original Telecommunication, Radio Communication, and IT Application Technical Committees.
