| Korean elected as the first IEEE 802 VLC IG Chair | |

At the last IEEE802 meeting during November 12~16 at Atlanta, U.S., a new VLC IG(Visible Light Communication Interest Group) was created and Samsung Electronic's Eun-tae Won Chief was elected as the first Chairman for the group. Luminous energy wireless communication, a product of LED and wireless communication technology combined, is a next generation communication technology that uses LED characteristics to create high-speed wireless communication. This technology is expected to shed new light for communications on board aircraft, hospitals, or anywhere communication is limited as well as constant communication connection where LED light is available.
TTA has created Luminous energy wireless communication group in May 2007, and completed its Luminous energy wireless communication standardization road map so that a full-scale standardization work can be pursued in 2008. |
