Korea ITU Committee (Chairman: Chi-dong Kim, Chief of RRL) General Assembly was held on 2007 December 21 at the grand conference room in Radio Research Laboratory attended by MIC(Ministry of Information & Communication) officials and researchers of IT industry. This assembly's agenda included reports of budget management status, national contribution submission status, international conference results, individual departments' activity reports and discussions regarding Korea ITU committee restructuring, expert support, 2008 ITU committee action plan, core strategic plan for individual departments, and revision of committee operation regulation. In particular, the meeting recognized committee's 2007 achievement for adoption of Korea's WiBro technology as IMT-2000 standard, Terrestrial DMB as ITU standard, and other 287 national contributions as ITU Recommendations. In 2008, the committee has plans to host ITU-T NGN & IPTV meeting (08.1.14~25, Walkerhill Hotel) and ITU-R WP5D(IMT-2000 Systems) meeting in seoul to promote and hopefully reflect domestic technology as well as participate in the WTSA meeting that will be held in October at South Africa to increase Korea's presence in the ITU-T sector. |
