TTA PG701's Vice Chairman Ki-young Kim (LG Electronics) was elected as the Vice Chairman for 3GPP during a 3GPP TSG-SA meeting held 9-12 March 2009 in Biarritz, France. 3GPP is an international cooperative organization that standardizes asynchronous IMT-2000 and the 4th generation mobile communication (also known as IMT-Advanced), and TTA has been a founding member since its establishment on December 1998. 3GPP has a Project Coordination Group(PCG), 4 Technical Specification Group, and 17 small technical groups, and Ki-young Kim from LG Electronics was re-elected as the Vice Chairman of TSG-SA that develops technical specifications for 3GPP LTE/SAE service and systems. The outcome of the 3GPP TSG-SA election is expected to revitalize domestic industry as the Vice Chairman will have positive effect on international standardization. |
