TTA Held a Workshop for Bridging the Standardization Gap(BSG) as Part of its Standardization Consultancy Program for Developing Countries
As part of Standardization Consultancy Program for developing countries, which has been  implemented with a goal to strengthen standardization capacities of developing countries, TTA jointly held its Bridging the Standardization Gap(BSG) workshop with ITU-T in Yangon, Myanmar from the 28th to the 29th of November last year. The workshop was mainly about providing proper and realistic consultancy on standardization and major ICT technologies for experts from governments, industries, and academia in the Asia-Pacific region including ICT policy makers of the hosting county, Myanmar.
The BSG workshop won favorable responses from the attendants as it served as an opportunity to derive standardization-related issues of developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region and to discuss solutions for each issue. The atmosphere of the workshop was lively as it proceeded with the close consultation on the current status of broadband implementation and related issues provided by Korean experts from industry and the academia and discussions on the latest technologies/services such as Cloud Computing, IoT, e-Health, NGN and Mobile Broadband.
The BSG workshop has been jointly organized with ITU-T since 2010 as part of TTA’s cooperation policy with ITU. Another is planned to be held this year targeting developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
