International Workshop for 5G Standard Technology

On September 4, TTA, together with 5G Forum, held its '6th International Workshop - Vision and Technology Trends for 5G,' an international workshop in which Chinese, Japanese and Korean experts discuss standardization issues regarding next-generation 5G mobile communication technology that will eventually supersede LTE. The workshop, which was held inside Palace Hotel, was attended by approx. 120 experts of related fields. Following a welcoming speech by Dir. Kang Seong-ju of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, presentations were given under ten subjects. A survey revealed that the presentation by Dr. Lee Yun-jeong from LG Electronics titled 'Small Cell Enhancement for Next Generation Communication,' which introduced general information about small cells to be applied to next-generation networks and technologies (discussed in the 3GPP for better understanding of dual connectivity and efficient small cell operation) received the most favorable response from the audience.
