Launched Testing & Certification of Diffusion Type DTV Receivers for Conversion to Digital
TTA Broadcasting Testing & Certification Department provides testing & certification services for promotion of digital TV supply in preparation of shutdown of analog terrestrial-TV broadcasting. TTA certified products so far include 2 manufacturers (U-Han Presen and Daewoo Display Corp.) for 32”, 1 manufacturer (Woosung Enterprise) for 42”, and 2 manufacturers (LG Electronics and SKYMEDIA KOR co., Ltd.) for 23”. Certification of diffusion type digital TV is provided to enable supply of products corresponding the government recommended quality at reasonable prices for promotion of digital TV supply before shutdown of analog terrestrial TV broadcasting due to December 31, 2012. General consumers can go to Digital Madang (http://www.digitaltv.or.kr) for internet shopping. The disadvantaged group may qualify for subsidy of KRW 100,000 from the government for models selected by the government, while the disabled will receive 100% compensation from the government.
