Next Generation Mobile Technology and Standardization Conference Hosted in Seoul on 17 Nov.

On November 17, 2010, TTA, OMA, and KWISA hosted ‘ Next Generation Mobile Technology and Standardization Conference’ in conjunction with OMA International Standardization Plenary Meeting at Hotel Lotte, Sogong-dong, Seoul. In this conference, mobile service providers and mobile terminal manufacturers presented technology trends related to smart phone-based wireless Internet. Also, local and foreign experts, who are actively participating in OMA Working Groups, were invited for presentation and discussion on current standardization trends and issues. Domestic and foreign companies including SKT, Combus, Huawei and Gemalto also participated to demonstrate products compliant with OMA international standards such as Smart Phone Firmware Update (FUMO) and Rich Contents Communication Service (RCS), attracting participants’ interests. Through this event, it is expected that domestic companies will strengthen their position on OMA international standardization. About 400 participants from domestic and foreign manufacturers, mobile service providers and contents developers attended this event.
