The 48th 3GPP TSGs Plenary Held From June 1st to the 10th, the 48th 3GPP TSGs Plenary was held by TTA at Hotel Shilla in Seoul with great success. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has successfully developed the 3rd generation asynchronous mobile phone standards such as WCDMA, HSPA and LTE and is currently focusing on standardization of LTE-Advanced (Release 10), the 4th generation mobile communication technology. It also proceeded with discussion and adoption of core technologies for the wireless connection, core network and service system of LTE-Advanced, and started discussion on standardization issues including tasks regarding Release 11, the successor technology of Release 10. In the future, according to the schedule for IMT-Advanced standardization, the 3GPP is planning to complete technical specifications for LTE-Advanced (Release 10) by the end of this year, and the next meeting will be held in September in San Antonio, Texas, United States. |
