| The 2nd International Seminar for IMT-Advanced Technology & Standardization | |

The second international seminar for IMT-Advanced Technology & Standardization was held at the TTA International Conference Hall on September 11, 2009, with attendance by approximately 150 academic and industrial experts to discuss the status and vision of international technology and standardization for the fourth generation mobile communications technology platform (IMT-Advanced). Following the first seminar last year, this international seminar provided an opportunity for heated discussions about international standardization trends that are relevant to the IMT-Advanced platform, together with the introduction of 3GPP LTE-Advanced and IEEE 802.16m technologies that are being raised as issues in recent times by Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Ericsson, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo and Huawei, etc. The heads of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) and Korea Communications Commission (KCC) attended the seminar and delivered congratulatory and encouragement speeches. In the future, TTA will distribute and publicize standardization trends and information about related technologies as a part of the project to promote international standardization of the IMT-Advanced. |
