In February 2009, TTA Mobile Communication Testing Team acquired ISO 17025 international testing laboratory qualification for WiMAX testing area by KOLAS(Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme), an international test laboratory accreditation body. The assessors consisting of KOLAS senior assessor and WiMAX Forum technical assessors made an on-site assessment of the quality system and testing equipment management ability of TTA Mobile Communication Testing Team 18-19 December 2008. The newly accredited WiMAX testing areas include Mobile Radio Conformance Testing, Protocol Conformance Testing, and Mobile Interoperability Testing, which are mandatory testing requirement for testing WiMAX technology. TTA Mobile Communication Testing Team also has plan to be accredited this year as ISO 17025 International Certified Testing Facility in Network Conformance Testing and Radiated Performance Testing areas, which are new testing criteria set by WiMAX Forum. The acquisition of the accreditation will enable TTA to provide efficiently international certification testing service not only to domestic but also to foreign WiMAX device and base station makers.
