| TTA Certifies Celrun's ACAP-based HanaTV Set-top box | |

TTA has certified ACAP(Advanced Common Application Platform)-enabled HanaTV set-top box (model: TD910H) manufactured by Celrun Co., Ltd. on March 11, 2008. Acquisition of TTA ACAP Certification signifies that the set-top box has met the standard for Terrestrial Data Broadcasting Middleware specification. The certified set-top box, which integrated the terrestrial tuner, will be used for Hanaro Telecom's IPTV service. The terrestrial data broadcasting middleware on the HanaTV set-top box is implemented by TVSTORM Inc. Since 2007, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and other major consumer electronics manufacturers have put their terrestrial data broadcasting receivers in the market after receiving TTA certification, and as of this year over 20 models have been certified by TTA. With the start of IPTV service in Korea at the end of this year, Celrun and TVSTORM's acquisition of TTA certification is significant that they overcame the technological barriers for terrestrial data broadcasting middleware technology on IPTV set-top box, and moreover, this will stimulate the expansion of business both domestically and internationally. TTA is putting all its effort in establishing dual-mode (terrestrial and IPTV) set-top box and IPTV exclusive set-top box testing facility to meet the expected demand for certification, as the IPTV data broadcasting will begin at the end of this year. |
